Business leaders say upgraded A500 has helped beat queues in Stoke-on-Trent 10 years on



BUSINESS leaders and transport companies have praised the impact the A500 has had on improving Stoke-on-Trent's infrastructure – 10 years after the dual carriageway opened.
The new-look D-road opened in September 2006 after two-half-a-years of construction which saw a series of roundabouts replaced and the creation of a 1.8-mile arterial road.
The £40 million overhaul of the A500 was completed in order to cut congestion, which at the time cost North Staffordshire firms an estimated £150 million a year.
