Business confidence bounces back strongly in September after Brexit vote lull, optimism index reveals



Business confidence across the UK bounced back strongly last month after suffering a post-Brexit vote lull.
An index representing optimism among UK firms rose to 112.4 in September, after dropping to 105.0 in July and 109.7 in August - with a reading above 100 indicating positive business sentiment.
The survey of more than 500 business leaders by YouGov and the Centre for Economics and Business Research also showed that 44 per cent of businesses were now optimistic about the UK's economic prospects over the next 12 months, compared with 35 per cent in August.
