Burnley's Local Plan must go back to the drawing board



The brakes have been slammed on Burnley Council’s much vaunted Local Plan by a government inspector who feels there are too many houses and employment sites included in the controversial document.
In a blow to town hall chiefs, the council received notification from the government’s planning inspector, Kevin Ward, proposing a number of modifications that he felt were necessary in order to enable the examination of the Local Plan to be completed and for it to be adopted.
