They left it late but Arsenal escaped from Turf Moor after a stuttering performance to score a controversial goal with the last play of the game.
It was light-years away from the performance Arsene Wenger would have wished for to mark 20 years as manager of Arsenal.
Burnley produced a fine defensive display and created the best chances from set pieces to threaten Petr Cech's clean sheet. However with the last play of the game Alexis Sanchez's clipped cross was met by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's header, which cannoned off Laurent Koscielny's arm into the back of the net.
