Burglary victim begged knife-wielding intruder not to hurt him during terrifying night raid
 

A knife-wielding burglar lunged and cut a householder who feared for his life in a terrifying struggle.
The victim woke up to intruder Daniel Paul Conroy turning on his bedroom light holding a large kitchen knife at 4.15am.
Armed Conroy, 31, demanded: “I want all your valuables in the house, the money especially.”
The frightened resident begged the raider not to hurt him, Teesside Crown Court heard today.
Prosecutor Rachel Masters said Conroy took a pillowcase and filled it with belongings, slipping a phone into his trousers.
