Burglars steal charity box and donations after breaking into Dougie Mac's Longton store

Police are hunting callous burglars who broke into a charity shop before stealing donations and a collection box.
Staff and volunteers at the Douglas Macmillan store in Longton were left shocked after discovering the break-in this morning.
Thieves had smashed an upstairs window before sneaking inside, damaging the till and fleeing with a charity tin and other items.
Now police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses to the raid at the Commerce Street shop, which took place on Sunday night.
The Blurton-based charity is now asking its supporters to help replenish stock.
