Bridge across A66 to Teesside Park needs greater checks due to sinking fears, says report
 

A busy access route into Teesside Park needs careful monitoring amid fears over sinking, a report has revealed.
The slip road on and off the A66 sits on “highly compressible” peat, which can cause cracks to the road surface.
Stockton councillors now say bridge checks should be increased from once to twice a year after a review into council-owned bridges.
So far, the council has spent £1.5m keeping the only access into the park open.
