Brexit pushes petrol prices to 14-month high as pound plunges



Petrol prices have hit a 14-month high, figures released this week have revealed.
The nationwide average for motorists at the pump is now 114.99p a litre.
Experts have said rising pump prices helped push inflation to a near two-year high last month
Motoring group the AA compiled the data, and warned prices were now beginning to have “a profound psychological impact on family finances.”
Sterling has slumped nearly 20 per cent against the dollar since the EU Referendum in June, which saw millions of Brits back Brexit with a vote to leave the European Union.
