Brexit jump starts EU-Japan trade deal
 

Around a third of Japan’s direct investment in the EU has traditionally flowed through the UK.
But with Britain’s future access to the single market unclear Tokyo has signalled it is preparing to rethink its trade strategy over the prospect of a hard Brexit. 
EU diplomats will sit down for the 17th round of negotiations this week and Brexit will be high on the agenda as Brussels looks to finalise the agreement with the world’s third-largest economy.
