Breaking up finances is hard to do: Two million Brits remain financially tied to an ex-partner



Two million people across the UK have failed to extricate themselves financially from their ex-partner, a survey suggests.
Thirty-six per cent are tied up in a joint mortgage, while 30 per cent are caught up in joint tenancy agreements. Worse still, 4 per cent of former partners are forced to continue living with each other due to financial constraints, research by the Debt Advisory Centre shows.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might be hogging the headlines, but in the past year, around three million Britons admit to splitting up with a partner.
