It was a beautiful strike to round off a performance that will offer Manchester City plenty of encouragement for the season to come.
Brahim Diaz saw the Real Madrid defence part before him as he collected the ball 40 yards from goal. With all the bravado of youth, he surged into the gap, cut inside, shaped and fired an unstoppable strike into the top corner.
It put City 4-0 up against the reigning champions of Europe and though it may only have been a pre-season friendly, manager Pep Guardiola would have been thrilled.
