Boozed-up train driver caught almost nine times over the limit still allowed to drive
 

A TRAIN driver caught almost nine times the railway drink limit has escaped jail and is still allowed to drive a car.
Colin Chapman, 54, was busted in his cab in May as he prepared to drive a passenger train from Edinburgh to Glasgow.
The £45,000-a-year-driver had a bottle of vodka in his rucksack.
He gave a blood alcohol reading of 174. The railway limit is 20 and the drink-drive limit for motorists is 50.
Sheriff Kenneth McGowan told alcoholic Chapman his very serious offence “could have had devastating consequences for other people”.
