Bootle MP Peter Dowd backs £100m plans for town but wants real jobs for workers
 

Bootle MP Peter Dowd has said that he wants to see real jobs and diversity at the centre of the £100m plans to regenerate the town.
Mr Dowd, who grew up in the area, said that he was fully behind the Bootle town centre investment scheme which would hopefully regenerate the town centre.
The document features plans for canal-side bars and restaurants, a hotel, new office space and homes.
Mr Dowd said that although the plans contained some eye catching detail, he wanted to see diversity of businesses and jobs at the heart of any renewal.
