 Boaty McBoatface? Research vessel currently docked in Liverpool causes confusion
 

A state-of-the-art research vessel sailing along the Mersey sent social media users into a meltdown after being mistaken for Boaty McBoatface.
RSS Discovery, a 100-metre long vessel, docked in Liverpool this morning as part of an environmental science event taking place in the city.
The ship is set to show off its “state-of-the-art” thrusters by rotating 360 degrees in the middle of the river accompanied by jet-spraying tug boats.
It will be moored on Liverpool Waterfront between October 4 and October 7 as part of the Natural Environment Research Council’s Into The Blue event.
