Blind veteran finds love for football aged 60 as he attends first ever match after losing sight
 

A DISABLED war hero has become an avid football fan at the age of 60 – after losing his sight.
Former soldier James Nelson enjoyed his first ever football match on Saturday.
The ex-Argylls sergeant was given VIP treatment at the Rangers-Partick game at Ibrox.
Veteran groups arranged special transport to the match and also sorted it for him to have a special wireless receiver with commentary.
James – who served in Northern Ireland, Jordan, Belize and Germany – said: “That day was life-changing for me. It was a terrific but emotional. I did shed a few tears but they were tears of happiness.... read more
