Birmingham revealed as diabetes hotspot for children
 

A hard-hitting documentary about the rise of diabetes in Birmingham shows how children as young as ELEVEN are being diagnosed with the disease.
One 15-year-old has already battled gout, whilst another youngster is developing cirrhosis of the liver - both conditions are widely associated with adults who drink too much alcohol.
Their shocking stories are featured on Panorama tonight and both are patients at Heartlands Hospital, in Bordesley Green.
Birmingham is also revealed as the first city to have child case of the condition in the UK, first diagnosed around 16 years ago.
