Birmingham New Road Aldi store to open on former pub site this week
 

Aldi will open its doors on the site of the demolished King Arthur pub.
In recent weeks work has progressed quickly, with the structure and the 94-space car park now in place.
A sign outside the store put up yesterday facing the road alerted motorists to the opening.
When the proposal was first made in 2015 West Midlands MEP Bill Etheridge called on council bosses to reject the scheme and for the building to be saved from the bulldozer.
