Big boost for jobs as £27 million Dudley rail centre gets green light



Outline plans for the £27.8 million complex at Castle Hill, which will create hundreds of jobs and apprenticeships, were approved at a meeting of Dudley Council’s development control committee.
The innovation centre has been described as ‘an example of Dudley making history once again’. 
The hub would be for the design and construction of lightweight rail vehicles, with research and development laboratories, as well as facilities for general manufacturing, conferences, teaching and training and further infrastructure.
