Bid launched to save County Durham hospital as a community asset
 

Campaigners have mounted a bid to save their local hospital amid fears it is to be sold off for housing.
Last week bosses at the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust announced the closure of the last inpatient ward at Shotley Bridge Community Hospital due to health and safety risks.
The move has sparked fears from locals that the move is a step towards eroding services until the hospital is no longer viable.
