Best cat at Westminster crowned – and Larry didn’t get a look in
 

After weeks of frenzied campaigns by MPs on both sides of the House, the meowment has finally come to reveal Westminster’s top dog – or rather, cat.
The winner of the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Purr Minister 2017 competition became champion by more than a whisker of the vote.
And No 10’s famous four-legged resident Larry the Cat didn’t even get a look in.
Instead, picking up this year’s coveted title was Midnight, owned by Victoria Prentis, Conservative MP for Banbury.
The triumphant feline beat six candidates to win a landslide victory with 49 percent of the public vote.
