Benwell head teacher furious after school chickens are stolen for the third time

A head teacher is calling fowl play after heartless thieves stole chickens from a special needs school for the third time.
Hadrian School on Bertram Crescent, in Benwell, built a coop as part of an outdoor education programme to teach pupils about the life cycle and how to care for animals.
But in the past 18 months, thieves have struck the Newcastle school three times and claimed a total of eight chickens.
The latest batch were stolen last weekend and head teacher Chris Rollings is desperate for the culprits to be identified.
