BBC introduced Nicola Sturgeon – then played footage of gorilla that escaped from London Zoo



The BBC has apologised after accidentally showing footage of the gorilla that escaped from London Zoo instead of a clip of Nicola Sturgeon.
BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty stifled a laugh following the blunder this morning.
She and co-presenter Charlie Stayt had been discussing the SNP leader’s plans to call a second Scottish Independence referendum when footage of Kumbuka, a 7ft gorilla that legged it from its London Zoo enclosure last night, was shown by mistake.
