Barlaston church auction to go ahead despite thieves stealing prizes



A fund-raising auction hosted by Bargain Hunt's Charles Hanson will still go ahead – despite mean thieves breaking into a church to steal valuable prizes.
Burglars pinched a snooker table, record player, rugs and luggage from a shed at St John the Baptist Church in Barlaston.
The items had been donated by villagers to go under the hammer to generate funds for the Station Road church.
Now organiser Peter Hedley has pledged 'the show will go on' despite the major setback.
