Audi cars with automatic gearboxes have software that can distort emissions during tests, VW says



The VW Group faces a new emissions-test cheating headaches after the carmaker reportedly admitted that some Audi models with automatic transmissions can perform more economically during test conditions.
Last week, German newspapers claimed that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) had identified new cheat software in adaptive shift programmes of automatic Audi models that's unrelated to the defeat devices that triggered 'Dieselgate' over a year ago.
