Attacker punched and stamped on victim's head in street



An assailant punched a young man unconscious and stamped on his head causing a fractured cheekbone.
Chay Jenkins (23) was convicted by a jury of causing grievous bodily harm to the victim, who needed an operation to repair the injury.
Jenkins, of Ireton Road, Market Harborough, denied the offence, claiming he acted in self-defence, in the early hours of February 6, 2016.
Following a trial, a jury at Leicester Crown Court rejected his account of what had happened – that he threw one punch to protect himself.
Jenkins was jailed for two years.
