An asylum seeker BIT a police officer after he was involved in a melee outside a Derby mosque.
Mohammed Afzal also branded those outside the Islamic building "extremists", a court was told.
Police were called to a disturbance outside the Jame Masjid and Madrasah Salafiah in Hastings Street, Normanton, on September 11, where they found a large group of people involved in a melee. Afzal, 35, of Balfour Road, Normanton, was said to be "suggesting people were extremists".
A bicycle was broken in the scuffle and Afzal was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
