If you manage to lose weight but struggle to keep it off, you may want to consider taking up mindfulness meditation.
A Canadian study suggests that the technique – which has its roots in Buddhism – may be effective in maintaining weight loss and preventing a rebound. 
Yo-yo dieting – also known as weight cycling – has been linked to high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and even cancer.
