Archaeologists are looking for a SECOND Lincoln castle at bus station



There could be a second Lincoln Castle that was built in around 1100 AD, archaeologists have revealed.
Thorngate Castle is thought to have been located beneath Lincoln bus station.
Excavations are under way as part of the new multi-million pound transport hub.

Archaeologist Naomi Field, who is working on the dig, told the BBC: "Really only because of the name and we know that the castle is referred to as Thorngate Castle and that this area was known as Thorngate.
