Apricot kernels can kill you - Government warn



Eating apricot kernels can be fatal as a chemical inside them can turn into cyanide after being eaten - according to the Government's food safety watchdog.
The Food Standards Agency has advised people not to eat the raw kernels as even eating relatively small amounts could exceed a safe level.
The agency issued the warning following an evaluation from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
Apricot kernels naturally contain high amounts of amygdalin which changes into cyanide after being eaten.
