Angela Merkel faces coalition DEADLINE as parties deeply divided over Europe
 

A Thursday deadline has been set to secure a provisional deal allowing the German Chancellor to form a three-way partnership with the FDP and Greens.
Mrs Merkel has been locked in talks with the parties for six weeks following her party's worst election result since 1949.
But there are still major hurdles to overcome including on environmental and immigration policies.
However, the biggest gap seems to be on the EU and calls from leading voices, including French President Emmanuel Macron, for closer integration.
