Andy Powell announces retirement from rugby, bringing to an end one of the sport's most colourful careers



Former Wales and British Lions forward Andy Powell has retired from rugby aged 35 after failing to recover from a knee injury.
The 2009 Lions tourist helped Merthyr win promotion to the Welsh Premiership after joining from Newport Gwent Dragons in 2015.
But the 23-cap back-rower has been unable to shake off his latest injury problem and has admitted defeat in his bid to return to action.
