Alzheimer’s disease: Devastating impact of the illness 'seen more acutely in women'
 

New analysis suggests the areas of the female brain which are typically stronger, such as verbal communication, are those quickest to decline as the disease takes hold.
Experts reviewed data from previous research into gender differences in Alzheimer’s and found as well as being more at risk women also displayed a faster deterioration in memory and thinking skills.
It follows earlier research revealing women showed more mental decline than men at the same stage of Alzheimer’s.
