Allergy reaction admissions ON THE RISE: Numbers going to hospital jump by a THIRD
 

The number of people being admitted to hospital for allergy related illnesses and anaphylactic shock has rocketed by more than a third - 33 per cent - in the last five years.
Figures revealed by NHS Digital show there were 29,554 hospital admissions in 2015/2016 for allergic reactions, in comparison to 22,206 admissions in 2011/2012.
Experts believe the spike might have occurred because people's natural resistance to allergens - such as bacteria and dust - has been lowered.
