Alexander Zverev could not hide his frustration at his second-round US Open exit at the hands of Borna Coric and described the defeat as ‘upsetting’.
The fourth seed had a favourable draw at Flushing Meadows and was heavily tipped to be a serious contender for a first major title.
But after another disappointing effort in a Grand Slam, having never been beyond the fourth round of a major, Zverev was left thinking “what if?” after a desperately underwhelming performance.
