Alex Ferguson acted as Keith Gillespie’s agent and secured a HUGE pay rise
Sir Alex Ferguson once acted as ex-Manchester United winger Keith Gillespie’s agent in order to force Newcastle to boost his wages, the player has revealed.
Gillespie began his career at Old Trafford but was sold to Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle in 1995, after failing to break into the United first team despite being part of the famed 1992 Youth Cup winners team alongside the famed ‘Class of 92’.
In turn, Gillespie became part of a £7million to sign Andy Cole during the January transfer window.
