'Alcoholic zombie' care home manager stole £15,000 from vulnerable residents



THE trusted deputy manager of a home for vulnerable adults stole £15,780 from six of them while behaving "like an alcoholic zombie".
She targeted the "most vulnerable victims that it is possible to imagine" by secretly using their bank cards to withdraw cash, a court heard.
But the court was also told how her distraught family had raised all the money to pay back the stolen cash.
Eva Keys, 51, of Barton, admitted six theft offences.
Jeremy Evans, prosecuting, told Grimsby Crown Court that Keys, of Barton, had worked at the home for about 14 years.
