But the band’s willingness to experiment with different song structures is what really pays off. A Boy, which is spacious, dreamy and almost 1960s-ish in feel, is sublime, as is Come Awake, one of the many tracks here that suggest the duo harmonies of Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh might be one of British pop’s greatest treasures.
