Akhtar Javeed's family weep in court as men jailed for role in Digbeth businessman's death
 

A man convicted of the manslaughter of Digbeth warehouse manager Akhtar Javeed has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.
Suraj Mistry, with an accomplice, planned and carried out an armed robbery of the Digbeth business premises on February 3, resulting in the owner being shot and killed.
Akhtar Javeed’s widow Aisha Javeed wept in the public gallery as her victim statement was read out in court.
Mrs Javeed said she had lost a man she was ‘completely and emotionally dependant on’ and that her husband’s death had devastated her.
