Airport currency exchange booths charging mark-ups of more than 25 per cent
 

Exclusive new research for the Daily Express by online foreign exchange specialists FairFX shows that some currency booths are charging a mark-up of more than 25 per cent on foreign exchange.
Chief executive of FairFX Ian Strafford-Taylor says that airports are renowned for their poor exchange rates but adds: “Now that they have dropped below €1 to the pound, we can clearly see just how shocking they really are.”
However, with forward planning you can prevent airport currency booths taking their pound of flesh.
