Air ambulance called to Barrow after schoolgirl knocked down by car



A girl, believed to be of secondary school age, has been involved in a collision with a Kia in Friars Lane.
The incident happened after 3.30pm and an air ambulance has landed close to the scene.
Police say Friars Lane between Monks Brow and Provincial Street will be closed for some time.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
The Evening Mail understands the plan is to airlift the girl to Alder Hey in Liverpool.
Anybody who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police on 101.
