Aintree Hospital A&E downgraded from ‘good’ to ‘requires improvement’
 

The safety rating at Aintree Hospital’s A&E has been downgraded from “good” to “requires improvement” amid fears over staff shortages.
The health watchdog swooped after concerns were raised about the standard of care in the A&E and urgent treatment units.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) ordered the hospital to make improvements and solve its staffing shortfalls.
The hospital’s overall rating is still “good” – this inspection focused only on its urgent and emergency services.
