“If the league was based on budgets, we’d be relegated at the start of every season,” says the Accrington Stanley midfielder Sean McConville. As it is, though, the Lancashire club, with 10 games to play, are on course for an overdue promotion to League One after missing out on goal difference on the final day of the season in 2016.
