A 'second Earth' just four light years away orbits a star more like our sun than previously thought



Earlier this year, astronomers were astounded at the discovery of a potentially habitable alien world within reaching distance of Earth.
Planetary scientists believe Proxima b, which orbits the smallest of three stars in the distant system, could hold oceans and possibly even the right conditions for life.
Now astronomers think that its parent star, Proxima Centauri, may even be more like our own sun, generating stellar winds which could batter the planet’s atmosphere.
