A Pendle first in CAMRA’s annual pub and club awards

Pendle’s CAMRA branch has announced its pub and club of the year at an annual awards night.
For the first time, the borough’s branch gave the pub of the year award to a micropub, pointing to the success of the new smaller drinking establishments focusing on good beer.
Boyce’s Barrel in New Market Street, Colne, opened just over 12 months ago, and judges were impressed with Andrew Turner’s work in building up a sound reputation by serving quality beer and by offering a consistent range of beer styles from dark to light and malty to hoppy.
