A new curling club is born at Ayr Ice Rink
 

A new curling club has been born in Ayr – after four previous outfits amalgamated.
The new Land O’Burns Curling Club is formed from members of clubs at Stair, Auchincruive, Kyle & Carrick and Kilmarnock Townend.
Dwindling numbers at the four clubs meant the best way was to join forces and go for a new broom.
And the new club got off to a flier when they beat Troon Portland 6-4 in the opening day bonspiel.
The two teams were closely matched and only a fraction of a centimetre decided the match in favour of the Land O’ Burns.
