A forgotten city corner where buffalo roamed



As with most large cities, there are some parts of Leicester that have changed beyond recognition in the past half century - and this fine photo shows one such example.
Unless you grew up in this neck of the woods or remember it, nobody today would know whereabouts the photographer was in April 1959.
Well, this scene shows Humberstone Road, at the junction with Bright Street and Cobden Street.
Everything seen here disappeared decades ago, but, as can be seen, it was a bustling commercial and residential area.
