MEIRIAN JUMP lifts the lid on events celebrating the International Brigades
THIS month marks the 80th anniversary of the creation of the International Brigades — those men and women who travelled to Spain from more that 50 countries to fight fascism and defend democracy in the Spanish civil war of 1936-39.
The Marx Memorial Library in Clerkenwell, London, will host a series of events over the next two weeks to mark this important anniversary along with the International Brigade Memorial Trust (IBMT), Unite the Union and Townsend Productions.
