93-year-old West Bridgford man was charged £300 for having small shrub trimmed
 

A man has been jailed after conning a vulnerable 93-year-old man out of £300 for gardening work he did not need or want.
John Winter, 23, of Montgomery Road, Newark, along with another suspect, took the pensioner to a cash point to withdraw money for the work - trimming a small garden shrub at his home in Gresham Close, West Bridgford, on September 27 this year.
A local witness had some concerns that the elderly gentleman might have been being exploited, and managed to take a note of part of the suspects' vehicle registration plate.
