7 ways Newcastle council's £70million budget cuts will affect you
 

This week Newcastle City Council embarked on its sixth round of cuts to jobs and services.
Since 2010 the authority has faced cuts totalling £200million from central Government - and over the next three years a further £70million will be trimmed from the council’s coffers.
On Wednesday the city’s cabinet voted to move forward with a public consultation on the latest budget proposals.
The plan could mean 100 job losses across a number of departments and an increase in council tax of 3.95%.
