A £50 million takeover bid has been tabled for Derby County rivals Nottingham Forest.
The man behind the attempt to take over Forest is American millionaire John Jay Moores, the former owner of the San Diego Padres baseball franchise.
The 72-year-old Texan is the figurehead of a consortium working to complete a £50 million deal to buy a majority stake in the football club from Fawaz Al Hasawi.
The group has already had a period of exclusivity over a potential purchase of at least an 80% stake in the Championship club.
